Brian May and Roger Taylor
in Moscow

“It finally happened”… and mr. Brian May with mr. Roger Taylor came to Moscow, brining tons of happiness with them to their russian fans. I had a luckiest chance to see them for all 3 days, they’ve been here in Russia!

Something like 200 people were waiting for them in pressure when they arrived at “Domodedovo” on 24th of February. Roger came out first smiling and looking pretty excited. Keeping silence most of the time, slightly unshaved, he made me feeling that he came out of space or from another planet. It really was unbelievable to finally see him. And then Brian and mr. Jim Beach came, looking happily shocked.

“Brian, you’re genius” – I said.

“Oh, no, no” – replied mr. May and I’ve caught the strangest mixture of emotions I’ve ever seen. His eyes were full of happiness for being loved by people so much and at the same time he showed some strange sadness for greatest and glorious days when Freddie was alive and Queen was the same. It seemed to me that Brian saw in my eyes and agreed with my feelings.

“When will your new album?”

“Oh, maybe this or new year”

After the short autograph session Queen left to the “Balchug Kempinski” Hotel. Leaving it later for a dinner in “Pushkin” restaurant Roger talked to me a little about his solo albums, smiling beautiful with every compliment I gave him. Brian stayed at hotel to sleep and didn’t joined Roger in restaurant.

The next day Queen visited the Kremlin museums, had a supper at “Mario” restaurant and gave an interview on ORT channel. I met Jim Beach when he was coming back to the hotel from TV and talked a little with him. Jim was very pleasant men and he’s still very beautiful. Jim said that Queen working now on 1 or 2 unreleased studio tracks and maybe they’ll release it soon.

When Brian and Roger came back to the hotel a lot of fans were waiting for them. I was glad to give them my presents: hand made souvenirs made of russian lipa tree, which I carefully signed “Special for mr. BM and mr. RT with love”.

“Oh, what is this, it looks so wonderful” - said Brian and Roger shacking my hand while they thanked me.

And sadly the last day of Queen visit in Moscow came.

Being at the conference in “Balchug Kempinski” hotel, I had the luckiest chance to officialy thank Brian and Roger for their visit and asked them a question about their new studio recordings. After the conference finished I’ve met Bri and Rog walking down the hall and now, what a happy surprise, Brian and Roger recognized me themselves and… stopped to thank me for attention and supporting. Replying to them I even thanked Roger for the “Drowse” song. For some seconds he couldn’t rememberit, but then smiled and said “A-a-ah, yeah, yeah “Drowse”. Thank you!”

Even Jim recognized me and we had a little chat at the conference hall. Speaking of Freddie Jim said “Oh Freddie, he was very shy”, smiling as he remembered mr. Freddie Mercury. After that Queen went to take a part on MTV’s “Total Show” and once again I was lucky to speak to them even there. The funniest thing is that when I talked to them, they shaked hands and smiled friendly to me, showing me, that they was glad to see such a die-hard fan which followed them everywhere again. I was just shocked, you know. Sadly it was the last time I’ve seen them. The next time I’ve seen just how their plain left Russian earth. Watching it flying away, I couldn’t believe how happy I was to see Roger for the first time and to see Brian even for the second time in my life. I hope they took some good emotions from Moscow (and me, (don’t consider me to be self-loving, just put yourself on my place, dearest queen fans;))
